Fuel Cells Ready for Market

Mention the words “fuel cell” and it’s too easy to get caught up in the idea of hydrogen-powered cars zipping around our streets and highways, emitting nothing out of tail pipes but drinkable drops of water. It’s certainly a dream to pursue, as Mississauga-based Hydrogenics Corp. and Ballard Power Systems Inc. of Vancouver are aggressively doing. More than that, it’s a reality worth waiting for, whether that day is 15, 20 or 50 years from now. As students of Hegel might say, it’s a history waiting to unfold.
