Fuel Cell Test Completed

January 23, 2003 [SolarAccess.com]Plug Power Inc has successfully completed the fuel cell demonstration program, funded by the U.S. Department of Defense, at the Watervliet Arsenal in Watervliet, New York. In early 2002, Plug Power installed 10 grid-parallel 5 kW fuel cell systems, which operated for more than 80,000 hours and generated approximately 210,000 kWh of electricity throughout the year. The fuel cell systems provided supplemental power to a telecommunications facility, a research and development laboratory and provided all power required for the four units at base housing.
