Fuel Cell Completes Compliance Tests

March 18, 2004 [SolarAccess.com] Fuel cell company Plug Power announced that its GenCore fuel cell product has successfully completed Network Equipment Building Systems (NEBS) Level 3 compliance testing, a standard developed by the telecommunications industry that qualifies equipment under “extreme environmental conditions and requires specific levels of technological resiliency,” said the company. GenCore 5T is Plug Power’s first direct hydrogen product based on a proprietary, modular, scaleable, architected platform. The GenCore 5T is a 5kW product designed to increase network reliability while reducing lifecycle costs for telecommunication networks. Plug Power designs and develops on-site energy systems based on proton exchange membrane fuel cells.
