Ottawa, Ontario [RenewableEnergyAccess.com] Four new corporate members have joined the ranks of the Canadian Solar Industries Association (CanSIA) as a mark of increased interest in promoting renewable eco-energy opportunities.
“Our growing membership is a testament to the fact the solar industry is ideally positioned to offer its expertise to governments and the public at this key time when the world is looking for solutions to the effects of climate change,” said Elizabeth McDonald, CanSIA Executive Director.
New Corporate 1 Members include BP Solar, Day4 Energy Inc., Sharp Electronics Corporation/ Solar Energy Solutions Group, and SunPower Parks Corp. (whose parent company, SkyPower Corp., recently announced that Lehman Brothers Private Equity business has acquired a significant equity stake). In order to qualify as a Corporate 1 member, companies must have more than 25 employees or revenue of over $3 million per year.
The companies join SunEdison, which joined last February.
“Each new member allows CanSIA to be more proactive in dealing with issues of concern to the industry and we are very encouraged by the number of organizations and companies who are stepping forward. Our combined efforts will further strengthen the solar industry in Canada,” McDonald added.
