DOE Launches Climate Change Website

January 27, 2004 [] The Department of Energy launched a new website that will serve as a resource for Greenhouse Gas (GHG) intensity reduction activities by industry associations participating in the Climate VISION program. The website enables the public and association member companies to track their progress in meeting their GHG-intensity reduction commitments under the program. The site is the official website of the Climate VISION program –Voluntary Innovative Sector Initiatives: Opportunities Now — the Presidential public-private partnership initiative launched by the Department of Energy on February 12, 2003, to contribute to the President’s goal of reducing GHG intensity. Critics counter that any voluntary measures for businesses and power plants to reduce GHG will be ineffective.
