County Officials Support Renewable Energy Goals

[RenewableEnergyAccess.com] Nassau County, New York Legislator Roger Corbin (D-Westbury) joined with fellow members of the Planning, Development and Environment Committee to approve a resolution that requires Nassau County to redirect its energy priorities with the goal of purchasing at least 25 percent of its energy from renewable energy sources by the year 2010. Corbin said the resolution, which is sponsored by Legislator David Denenberg, would make Nassau County a leader in the effort to improve environmental quality. The resolution would redirect the area’s energy policy so energy needs would be met through clean, renewable energy sources instead of fossil fuels.
