Hamburg, Germany & Barcelona, Spain [RenewableEnergyAccess.com] A solar assisted cooling solution (SAC) developed by Conergy AG will adjust the indoor climate in the German school, Deutsche Energie-Agentur, in Barcelona. In addition to 40 Conergy F 6000 collectors that are accommodated on the roof, the space-saving system has one 20-foot container that has room for the entire cooling and control technology. The compact system will provide a cooling output of 20 kilowatt (kW). “Solar cooling has enormous growth potential worldwide, because sunlight provides energy for cooling precisely when it is hottest. It is a forward-looking technology that supports the public power grid during peak times. The air-conditioning of the building makes its operator more independent of rising energy prices,” said Christian Stadler, Head of Solar Cooling at Conergy.
