CALSEIA Invites Survey Participants on CSI

The California Solar Energy Industries Association (CALSEIA) is inviting all solar companies in the state to participate in a survey to determine what impact the California Solar Initiative (CSI) has had on businesses in the state.

The CSI has been in place for six months and many people are concerned the program is having a negative impact on solar businesses. According to figures released by the CPUC, residential applications are down 78% from this time last year.

Legislation was recently passed that fixed problems with Time-of-Use (TOU) rates, which were causing unattractive payback periods for potential residential solar owners. However, there are still some issues with the program, including the amount of application work that businesses are doing, the speed with which applications are processed and the fairness of the Expected Performance Based Buydown (EPBB) calculator.

CALSEIA plans to determine how effective the CSI has been in stimulating the solar industry. To participate, please visit the link provided below. E-mail completed surveys to info@calsiea.org.
