Briefly Noted … Fuel Cells

– A group of eleven Russian construction officials have visited the facilities of Colorado’s Delta Montrose Electric Association to learn about fuel cells and other alternative energy technologies. DMEA said the Russians were particulary interested in its integration of fuel cells with GeoExchange technologies for the production of electricity, heat and hot water. – Power Technology of Nevada says prototypes of its patented lead-acid batteries have been built and are undergoing testing procedures. The 75 amp hour batteries weigh 12 kg and officials claim they are an evolutionary product, with prototypes already earmarked for delivery to potential licensees and major users of batteries, including firms in Scandinavia, Germany, Italy, North America, Dubai, China, and the Philippines.
