Biophan Develops the Body Electric

Biophan Technologies, a leading developer of next generation biomedical technology, has signed an agreement with NASA for the joint development of high-density, nano-engineered thermoelectric materials for use with implanted medical devices. Essentially, to create a power solution that uses body heat to generate the electricity needed for health monitors worn by astronauts.

August 24, 2004 [SolarAccess.com] By using the body’s generation of heat as a power source, according to Biophan, it is possible to achieve a significantly longer power life for the systems. These are intended to replace or augment traditional power systems, such as lithium iodine batteries.
