Bill to Rearrange Renewable Energy in Hawaii

[Honolulu Advertiser] A proposal for a new utility company focused solely on developing and managing renewable energy — which has the support of the Lingle administration and the Sierra Club’s Hawaii Chapter — is in the Legislature. The utility would be funded with a consumer surcharge that now goes to Hawaiian Electric Co. for its programs.
