Beacon Power Adds Key Solar Executives

July 18, 2003 []Beacon Power which specializes in energy storage and power conversion systems, has hired two new employees with extensive experience in photovoltaic applications for the company’s inverter technologies. Daniel TwoEagles has joined on as Director of Marketing and Sales, and Marko Rosenfeldt as Technical Service Manager and Sales Engineer. These recent appointments are largely to address customer demand for Beacon Power’s new inverter, dubbed the Smart Power M5, which is an upgraded and improved 5 kW inverter designed for grid-connected PV applications. The new unit is based on MM5000 technology purchased from Advanced Energy Systems earlier this year. The unit incorporates an inverter, charge controller with maximum power point tracking and switchgear and can connect to a battery system to provided uninterruptible power system (UPS) capability.
