Ballard Appoints New CEO

July 17, 2002 [] Fuel cell maker Ballard Power Systems Inc. named its new chief executive officer Tuesday, who will take over the job in March 2003. As part of the succession plan announced Tuesday, Dennis Campbell will join the company as president and chief operating officer effective Monday. Campbell’s 30-year career includes many aspects of manufacturing in industries such automotive, plastics, power generation, helicopters, specialty compressors, and filter systems. His most recent position has been as president and chief executive officer at Home Care Industries, a filter system manufacturer. Campbell will replace Firoz Rasul as chief executive who will remain as executive chairman of the board.
