Aleo Solar Signs $45 M in Contracts for Germany

aleo solar AG reports it has received orders for the sale of its modules worth Euro 35 million [US$ 45 million] in 2007 for Germany. Corresponding agreements were signed with a number of fitters at the end of December and are to take effect this year.

“We were able to run down our inventories to a large extent and will exceed our forecasts for the year,” said Heiner Willers, member of the Management Board of aleo solar AG. “In a buyer’s market, module prices are now again being seen as an incentive for investment, while the mild winter has allowed fitters to continue working to date.” aleo solar AG holds a 19% stake in the thin-film facility in Brandenburg on the Havel River, which is currently being constructed by Johanna Solar Technology. The facility is scheduled to start production of its first silicon-free thin-film modules this year, with the number of employees set to triple during the first stage of expansion.
