40 kW PV Array Delivers Solar Power to Yale

Newington, Connecticut [RenewableEnergyAccess.com] Schueco USA and Sunlight Solar have completed a 40-kilowatt (kW) flat-roof photovoltaic (PV) system installation at Yale University. The grid-tied system is composed of 262 Schueco polycrystalline 158-SP PV modules that produce 158 watts of power. According to Yale officials, the new array will provide about two-thirds of the building’s electricity demand during daylight hours. The system was custom mounted with Schueco’s mounting system to accommodate panels at 15 degrees. The Connecticut Clean Energy Fund helped cover costs.
