Arslan Khalid

Associate Programme Officer

Arslan Khalid is an Associate Programme Officer at the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), where he specializes in the analysis of renewable energy policies and socio-economic impacts of renewables.
He has worked extensively on the analysis of renewable energy policies using both qualitative and quantitative methods. More recently, at IRENA, he has contributed to the research and development of several publications on topics such as auction mechanisms, regional policy analysis and water-energy and food nexus. He has also co-authored publications on the renewable energy landscape of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) with focus on topics such as policy frameworks, cost competitiveness and renewable desalination. Finally, his work on socio-economic benefits of renewables is primarily focused on employment impacts.
Arslan holds a masters in Engineering Systems and Management from Masdar Institute and a bachelors in Electrical Engineering from University of Engineering and Technology Lahore.
