World’s Largest Solar Array Shapes Up

February 4, 2004 [] Plans for a PV system with an 18 MW capacity in southern Germany are taking shape. Yes, that was 18 MW. According to Photon Magazine, Solon AG, a Berlin, Germany-based PV module manufacturer is leading the project. The proposal has faced scrutiny from a number of regional planning commissions in which civil servants, municipalities, as well as environmental organizations were able to ask questions and raise objections. Construction is expected to start in July.
