The World Energy Council has added 41 members to its global Future Energy Leaders program (FEL-100), the council’s platform to support and promote the energy leaders of tomorrow.
Members of the FEL-100 community share a commitment to shaping the future of energy; solving the world’s most pressing challenges in energy and sustainability; engaging in national, regional and global activities and events; and delivering innovative projects through their “Market of Ideas” program, according to a press release.
FEL-100 program members represent diverse backgrounds, including government, business and industry, academia and research, finance, IGOs, NGOs, oil and gas, renewables, technology, innovation and start-ups, engineering and construction, and utilities.
The 41 new Future Energy Leaders were pulled from 351 nominations by the council’s member committees. WEC says the number of applications received increase 114% compared to 2019 and regional diversity increased, including +24% in Africa.
