Voltaix Nets US $9M in Funding

Voltaix announced that it had recently recieved a US $9 million investment from Novus Energy Partners. As part of the transaction, Reidar Langmo, founding partner and CEO of Novus Energy Partners and co-founder and former CEO of Renewable Energy Corporation (REC) has joined the Voltaix Board of Directors.

“Reidar Langmo is one of the most accomplished executives in the clean tech industry,” said Dr. Peter deNeufville, chairman of Voltaix. “He and his colleagues at Novus bring to Voltaix both an exceptional base in semiconductor materials and a track record of successfully industrializing energy technologies.”

Voltaix manufactures electronic chemicals and gases used in “front-end” semiconductor manufacturing processes at leading integrated circuit fabs worldwide. The company said that it plans to use the funds from the Novus investment to further develop its manufacturing capabilities to meet growing demand for thin film-based solar power and advanced CPU and DRAM products.

Last year, the company received $12.5 million in financing from Intel Capital, the global investment arm of Intel Corporation.
