Videos with SolFocus: Market outlook for concentrator PV

Nancy Hartsoch, SolFocus, says that cost is a major driver, as well as recyclability and efficiency, for adopting concentrator photovoltaics (CPV).

(July 23, 2010) — In these video interviews from Intersolar North America 2010, Nancy Hartsoch, SolFocus, says that cost is a major driver, as well as recyclability and efficiency, for adopting concentrator photovoltaics (CPV). With CPV the land is not blanketed in solar panels, protecting the location’s ecosystem.

In a 2009 article for Renewable Energy World, Nancy Hartsoch said that “the industry is likely to see between 200 and 250MW of concentrating PV installed” in 2010, up from an estimated 30MW in 2009.
