Tyntek Spins Off Solar Cell Unit

[DigiTimes.com] The board of directors of Tyntek, which currently has LED, infrared (IR) sensor and solar cell product lines, on June 1 approved the spin-off of its solar cell business by July 31 to form a wholly owned subsidiary, Tyn-Solar Corporation (TSC). It is estimated that TSC will produce seven megawatt-peaks (MWp) of solar substrates in 2006, according to Tyntek, adding that the subsidiary plans to apply for trading on Taiwan’s over-the-counter (OTC) market at the end of June in 2007.
