Tosoh SMD Inc. established a thin film sputtering target manufacturing subsidiary in Shanghai, China to serve semiconductor, flat-panel display (FPD), solar, and large area coating customers in the country.

August 2, 2011 — Tosoh SMD Inc. established a thin film sputtering target manufacturing subsidiary in Shanghai, China to serve semiconductor, flat-panel display (FPD), solar, and large area coating customers in the country. Tosoh SMD (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. will expand the company’s global capacity and contribute to its raw materials sourcing strategy.

Tosoh SMD Inc. has been in China for over 20 years. The Shanghai subsidiary will enable steady thin film deposition materials and support from a localized supplier, said Marty Blazic, Tosoh SMD, Inc.’s President and COO.
