Time to Email your California Lawmaker…Again

Do I need to explain the importance of net metering to solar industry folk reading this? Lord love a duck, I hope not.

As many of you know–or should know–net metering is going to be capped at 2.5% of system peak load in California. PG&E, the San Fran based utility, is fighting to keep that cap. We need to pass AB 560 to keep the solar biz going strong in California. So what can you do about it?

At the very least, if you haven’t done so already, go to vote solar and send a quick automated email to the legislators about lifting said cap to 10% of peak load.

You might get back some automated response from your Assemblyperson as I did. Conveniently, they include their phone number. Then you know what you should do? Pick up the phone for 5 minutes and tell the staffer(s) that you want your Rep to support AB 560. That never hurts.

Feel queazy about doing this? Read my previous post. Perhaps that will inspire. And naturally, pass this message along to colleagues.
