Thin Film PV Modules Manufacturing Updates

Rohwedder, Inc. has entered in to a new exclusive contract with First Solar LLC to build a semiconductor layer coating and heat strengthening system for the manufacture of thin-film photovoltaic solar modules.

Rohwedder’s role will be to build and install the critical semiconductor coating system and to work with First Solar on future process and equipment development in order to improve product pricing and product performance attributes. First Solar is a supplier of thin-film photovoltaic (PV) modules using several patented production processes at its Perrsyburg, Ohio facility. First Solar has developed technology capable of manufacturing efficient, high quality solar modules at throughput rates and costs previously unequaled in the PV industry, according to the company.
