Wuxi, China [RenewableEnergyWorld.com] Two tracking solar power plants with a combined capacity of close to 16 megawatts (MW) have been completed in Spain. Suntech Power Holdings Co. Ltd., in collaboration with tracker company a+f GmbH, supplied approximately 50% of all the modules used in the projects.
The projects include an 8.5-megawatt (MW) solar plant in Alange and a 7.4-MW solar plant in Alconera. The modules were installed on more than 450 a+f SunCarrier trackers, which increase the power efficiency of the solar systems by up to 32% above that of fixed mounted solar systems, Suntech said.
“These solar projects illustrate the potential for inter-value chain collaboration to provide highly efficient and completely sustainable energy solutions,” said Jerry Stokes, president of Suntech Europe.
