SunPower & Naturener Complete 7-MW Solar Energy Plant

SunPower and The Naturener Group opened a 7-megawatt solar electric power plant in Casas de Don Pedro, Badajoz, Spain. Solargen, a corporate affiliate of The Naturener Group, owns the plant.

SunPower installed its tracking systems at the site, which covers a total of approximately 98 acres. SunPower said that its tracking systems follow the sun as it moves across the sky, increasing sunlight capture by up to 25 percent over conventional fixed-tilt systems. SunPower has an office in Madrid and has completed construction of more than 150 megawatts of power plants in Spain.

“Naturener chose SunPower’s innovative solar tracker technology as part of our turnkey solar solution,” said Mario Riello, European sales director of SunPower. “The SunPower Tracker solar power system is a proven and reliable solution for maximizing the highest energy delivery, while optimizing land use and reducing related costs.”
