Suburban Village Powered by 1.14 MW of Solar PV

Rohnert Park, California [RenewableEnergyAccess.com] The business center in Sonoma Mountain Village, a live-work development, is 100% powered by solar electricity, due to a 1.14-megawatt (MW) solar array designed and developed by PowerLight Corporation. The 200-acre village, located near Sonoma State University, is open for occupancy by businesses, and will have 2,000 residential units. Collaborating with the builder, urban planners and PowerLight Corporation, what is billed as the largest privately owned solar power array in California has drawn support from California government officials, Sonoma State University and regional stakeholders.
