Standard Solar Completes PV Installation for US DOE

Standard Solar Inc. has announced the completion of the installation of approximately 205 kilowatts (kW) of solar photovoltaic (PV) panels on the roof of the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) in Washington. DOE selected SunPower Corporation to design the installation and provide the solar panels used. The installation includes 891 SunPower 230-watt solar modules that cover over 14,000 square feet of roof space – about 1/3 of an acre.

“We are thrilled that the Department of Energy has made this investment in clean energy technology,” said Anthony Clifford, CEO and president of Standard Solar. “Solar technology is working today all over the world by harnessing the clean power of the sun.  This show of support from DOE enhances our efforts across the country to create access to natural, reliable solar energy for every home and business in the nation.”
