Spire Will Provide Turnkey PV Cell Line to European Solar Firm

Bedford, Massachusetts [RenewableEnergyAccess.com] To address expanding global demand, Spire Corp. entered into an agreement to provide a commercially sized, multi-megawatt, turnkey Photovoltaic Cell Manufacturing Line for $6.75 million to a privately owned solar firm in Europe. Solar cells are one of the key components used in manufacturing solar modules. The new cell line will be integrated with an existing production line. “All of Spire’s module manufacturing lines are designed for backward integration, enabling customers to integrate a cell line onto the front end of an existing module line,” said Roger G. Little, Spire Corp., Chairman and CEO.
