Spire to Provide First Solar with Solar Simulators

Bedford, Massachusetts [RenewableEnergyAccess.com] Spire Corporation received a purchase order to deliver eight solar simulators to First Solar’s new manufacturing facility, under way in Germany, where they will be incorporated into its new, highly automated thin film solar module production line. This brings First Solar’s order to 12 solar simulators from Spire in the last year. Spire’s SPI-SUN SIMULATOR 350i is used to test the electrical performance of photovoltaic modules during manufacturing of thin film modules, such as those produced by First Solar, as well as in the manufacture of the more common crystalline silicon-based modules, making them versatile enough for all module manufacturers.
