Spire and KUKA Provide Large-Scale Robotic PV Manufacturing Lines

Bedford, Massachusetts [RenewableEnergyAccess.com] Spire Corp. entered into an agreement with KUKA Schweissanlagen GmbH, of Augsburg, Germany, to combine its machine technology and address the growing demand for fully automated large-scale photovoltaic (PV) manufacturing lines. This will accelerate the integration of KUKA’s automation expertise with Spire’s module manufacturing equipment to produce fully automated, high-throughput facilities. Spire and KUKA will present an engineered concept for a fully automated 100-megawatt per year module production line at the Photovoltaic Technology Show 2007 — to be held April 4-5, 2007 in Munich, Germany.
