SOLON Wins 10-MW Order from Greece

SOLON AG has won its first major order in the Greek market. The agreement that has been signed with Hypervolt Renewable Energy S.A. provides for the supply of solar modules totaling 10 megawatts (MW) during 2008 and 2009.

SOLON’s panels wil be used in the construction of power stations in Greece. Hypervolt Renewable Energy S.A. is a subsidiary of Stelio Solar GmbH & Co. KG, a German firm focused on the development and financing of photovoltaic projects.

Greece introduced legislation in 2006 that provides for payments for solar-generated electricity that is fed into the national grid. The Greek photovoltaic market, however, is still only in the early stages of development. This agreement represents a first step by SOLON AG into this market.
