Solon AG Receives Major Order From Italy

Solon AG, has been awarded a contract to construct several large-scale solar power plants in Italy. The projects will be carried out by Solon’s Italian subsidiary, S.E. Project s.r.l. for Veronagest S.A., a company located in Verona, Italy.

The agreement covers turnkey construction of several solar power plants in the southern Italian region of Puglia. The first project, a 2.4 megawatt (MW) plant is to be completed by the end of 2008. Construction on five additional plants with capacities of 10 MW each will be started in 2008 and 2009.

In addition, the agreement contains an option to construct a 100 MW plant between 2009 and 2011. Both tracked systems as well as fixed-tilt photovoltaic systems will be used in the projects.
