Solea Starts Work on 3.8-MW PV System

Solea AG will start construction this week on a solar park in Bari Province, Italy with its partner ON-OFF/Western Co. The solar facility, with a power of 3.83-megawatts (MW), covers a ground area of approximately 20 hectares and construction will be divided into four phases.

The construction of the solar park is expected to be completed at the end of November. The facility will be grid connected in 2009, Solea said.

The solar park is expected to produce more than 5,360 megawatt-hours of electricity annually. The mounting system and the screw foundation is produced by PV-Eiwa Systemtechnik GmbH & Co.KG, the sister company of Solea AG. The single axis tracking system used in the project will be provided by Western Co. has been specifically modified to adjust to the local terrain conditions and optimize the yield.
