London, UK [RenewableEnergyWorld.com] Solarig and HSBC Environmental Infrastructure Fund (HEIF) have sealed an alliance for the development and construction of more than 50 megawatts (MW) of solar photovoltaic (PV) projects in Spain and Italy. A total investment of more than €200 million is expected.
Solarig will act as general contractor for the projects, being responsible for the construction including design, engineering and works management until the final connection to the grid. Solarig will also operate and maintain the plants once built, adding to the existing 22 MW of PV assets that it has already developed and now operates.
The technologies chosen for the projects will be fixed structure systems with mono or polycrystalline modules and 500-kilowatt inverters. HEIF and Solarig believe that there are substantial political, economic and environmental drivers creating compelling investment opportunities in the development of solar PV projects across these regions.
