Solar Veteran Joins Thin-film Company Management

[CNET News] CNET News is reporting that Bob Oswald, who headed up research efforts at BP Solar and Solarex over the past two decades, has joined HelioVolt as Vice President of Engineering. HelioVolt specializes in copper-indium-germanium-selenium (CIGS) solar technology, according to CNET. This is among the many thin-film technologies that typically operate at lower efficiencies than traditional silicon-based solar photovoltaics but offer the promise of lower manufacturing costs.
