Solar Race Partnerships Formed

Whistler Investments and the University of California’s Berkeley Engineering Department have formed a partnership for the 2005 North American Solar Challenge. Subsidiaries of the investment company that provide development and marketing of lithium powered products; R-Electric Car, Global Electric, and Solium Power, will work with students from UC Berkeley on the CalSol solar car project for the 2005 race.

September 2, 2004 [] Teams will begin racing their solar-powered cars north from Austin, TX. With students behind the wheel, the high-tech and highly efficient solar cars will travel cross-country through the US and into Canada – where the finish line awaits them in Calgary, Alberta. After months of design, building, and testing these cars, the students will be ready for the racing challenge.
