Solar Company Changes NASDAQ Trading Symbol

October 21, 2003 [] Energy Conversion Devices (ECD) announced that NASDAQ has notified the company that, as a result of the delayed filing of its Annual Report on Form 10-K for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2003 with the Securities and Exchange Commission as described in the company’s press releases of October 14 and October 15, 2003, NASDAQ will change the trading symbol for ECD’s securities from ENER to ENERE at the opening of business on October 20, 2003. The company’s vice president and CFO, Stephan W. Zumsteg, said the notification and action by NASDAQ is a routine procedure that applies to any NASDAQ-listed company that has delayed the filing of its 10-Ks or 10-Qs.
