Solar Challenge Slated to End in Cocoa

July 17, 2003 [SolarAccess.com] The Florida Solar Energy Center will be the site of the finish line for the Dell Winston Solar Challenge, a cross-country race of solar-powered vehicles built by high school students on July 23, 2003. The official welcome and presentations will begin at 5:15 p.m. in front of the Florida Solar Energy Center (1679 Clearlake Road, Cocoa, on the campus of Brevard Community College, Cocoa/ UCF Brevard). Solar cars participating in the race will be displayed for the public to view. The race will take the high school teams from Dell Computer’s World Headquarters outside of Austin, Texas through communities in Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida to the finish line in Cocoa.
