Solar Center Director Honored

April 8, 2003 [] Dr. David L. Block, who stepped down as director of the Florida Solar Energy Center (FSEC) in November after 25 years of leadership, has been named “Director Emeritus” of the Center. Block was honored by the University of Central Florida (UCF) at a ceremony on April 2 with the title presented “in recognition of devoted service to the growth and progress of the university through teaching, research, counseling, and knowledge.” Block currently serves as Co-Director of FSEC’s US$5.4 million NASA-funded “Hydrogen Research at Florida Universities” grant and remains active as a researcher and educator as well as an administrator at the Center.
