Solar Advocacy Day Held

May 22, 2003 [SolarAccess.com] Last week, the Solar Energy Industries Association, representing solar industry interests in government, hosted an Advocacy Day in Washington, D.C. High-level executives from the leading photovoltaic, concentrating solar power and solar thermal companies attended a series of more than 20 meetings, including sessions with Assistant Secretaries David Garman (DOE) and Pam Olsen (Treasury,) as well as with Senators Dorgan, Cantwell, and Durbin, a number of member’s individual Representatives, relevant appropriations and Energy Committee staff, and a solar industry breakfast with Sen. Harry Reid. A coordinated and comprehensive solar agenda -tax, interconnection and metering, R&D, RPS, etc., was presented to good effect.
