Siemens Wins Grant for Clean Energy Project

Malvern, Pennsylvania [] Siemens Medical Solutions is one of 25 recipients of $8.5 million in grants from the Pennsylvania Energy Development Authority (PEDA), which were given to pursue clean energy projects throughout the Commonwealth. Siemens also received a $415,000 grant to install a 100-kilowatt (kW) photovoltaic (PV) energy system that will generate approximately 125,000 kilowatt hours annually. Installation will begin in July 2006. According to the Energy Information Administration and based on average U.S. household consumption, the system being installed by Siemens generates enough electricity to power all appliances, electronics, lighting and related household needs for 30 homes.
