The one-mile roadway to the Environmental Protection Agency headquarters in North Carolina’s Research Triangle Park, will be illuminated by solar panels.
CAMARILLO, California, US, 2001-12-20 [SolarAccess.com] The panels were produced by Siemens Solar and the complete roadway lighting system was manufactured by the Solar Electric Power Company. The tree-lined roadway is lit with SEPCO’s 200 watt solar lighting system which powers the commercial fixtures from dusk to dawn. “We’re extremely pleased with the installation,” says EPA project manager Chris Long. “We’re committed to using cost-effective technologies that reduce our air pollution impact, and this project speaks volumes about our commitment to clean, renewable energy.”Siemens Solar Installs Panels in Roadway Lighting
