November 17, 2003 [SolarAccess.com] Shell Solar unveiled its new web design that will make it easier for visitors to find out about the company’s products and activities. Shell’s clean, predominantly white design, replacing the previous blue, orange and yellow format, features clearer navigation and a simpler structure. User testing around the world indicates that it is easier to use and complements Shell’s advertising and promotional materials. The new design puts useful functions, such as a directory of Shell websites and a search engine across its 50,000 pages at the forefront of the page. These tools make it easier for customers to obtain information about the goods and services that Shell offers for motorists, businesses and in the home. Findings from the market research – including web users from Australia, Thailand, the UK and the US – were built into the design to ensure that its navigation and format is intuitive to all cultures. The new design will be rolled out to 150 of Shell’s country and business websites by the end of the year.
