Shell Solar Announces Efficiency Record for Thin Film Modules

[] Cost per watt is always a more important benchmark for solar, but companies continue to proudly proclaim their efficiency breakthroughs. The latest is from Shell Solar, which recently achieved 13.5 percent light to electricity conversion efficiency for its thin film CIS (Copper-Indium-Diselenide) photovoltaic technology. The company characterized this as a record for thin-film. The result was independently verified by the TUV Rheinland Group in Cologne, Germany based on a 30 x 30 cm-sized module.
