Senersun buys stake in Chinese solar cell manufacturer

Solar panel maker Senersun will acquire stake in Shinew Photoelectronic Technology to increase its manufacturing capacity. Senersun plans to quickly ramp up on-site capacity.

November 16, 2011 — Citing steady growth in a difficult year for photovoltaics overall, solar panel maker Senersun will acquire stake in Shinew Photoelectronic Technology to increase its manufacturing capacity. Senersun plans to quickly ramp up on-site capacity.

This is the French company’s first acquisition, and came after several months of due diligence vetting of China-based Shinew Photoelectronic Technology. Senersun chose Shinew Photoelectronic Technology based on its established manufacturing base, quality standards compliance (STS certification), cost competitiveness, management team experience, environmental soundness, and related factors.

Alexandre Minuzzo, CEO of Senersun, expects to see “large demand” in 2012 for the company’s solar panels, and expects this acquisition to be the jumping off point for an expansion program.

Senersun is a French company specialized in the manufacturing of high-end solar panels featuring one of the most advanced quality control systems. Learn more at http://senersun.com/.
