Report Complete on Emerging Renewables Program

Sacramento, California [] The free report titled “Emerging Renewables Program Systems Verification” (2004-2005; Publication No. CEC-300-2005-019) is available and free. Its conclusions are that instantaneous measurements showed most photovoltaic (PV) systems were operating in line with expectations, with modest performance losses due to shading, soiling and other system issues. Overall, applicants were satisfied with the Emerging Renewables Program (ERP). The ERP has provided incentive funds for the installation of more than 15,000 eligible systems (97% PV) with roughly 70% installed between 2002 and 2004. The California Energy Commission’s (CEC) contractor conducted 165 on-site verifications of small-scale renewable energy systems in 2004-2005 to evaluate system performance and to verify installed system equipment. Verification was supported by a mail survey that measured customer experience in applying to the ERP, receiving utility interconnection approval, and gauging helpfulness and knowledge of the retailer and/or installer.
