PV Powered’s StarInverter Increases Solar Harvest

PV Powered announced three new single-phase residential inverters based on the second-generation StarInverter PVP5200 architecture. The PVP2500, PVP3500 and PVP4800 offer expanded DC voltage operating range and greater reliability.

“Our second generation design architecture, introduced in the PVP5200, has been deployed in the field for more than a year with only a one percent failure rate,” said Bill Taylor, PV Powered founder and president. “With an input voltage as low as 140 volts, the expandability of our PVP2500 makes it the ideal entry-level inverter for residential applications,” Taylor added. PV Powered products, designed and manufactured in the U.S. to meet the higher irradiance levels and hot climates found in the U.S. marketplace, are engineered to operate at higher temperatures without any thermal fold back. The inverters collect and harvest solar energy into electricity applicable for homes, offices or commercial buildings. The PV Powered design architecture has no fan requirement and a simple design for easy installation and field service. The company offers a 10-year warranty, has good efficiency ratings, and, Taylor said, “the lowest total cost of ownership for residential solar power applications.”
