PV Installer Volunteer Code of Conduct Approved

At a recent board meeting, the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP) approved a Volunteer Code of Conduct to guide NABCEP volunteers in their participation on the NABCEP board and committees.

Highlands Ranch, Colorado – April 4, 2003 [SolarAccess.com] NABCEP is composed of representatives of solar stakeholder groups and subject matter experts, all of whom participate on the board voluntarily. NABCEP participants will be asked to sign the Volunteer Code of Conduct asserting that they will abide by high ethical standards of conduct, respecting the confidentiality of the standards-development process and avoiding conflict-of-interest situations. “Establishing a Volunteer Code of Conduct was an important step in creating mutual trust and accountability for NABCEP volunteers of all kinds,” said Ezra Auerbach, president of the NABCEP board of directors. “In this one document, we define policies on disclosure of information, public speaking and meeting-attendance to make volunteer participation as clearly defined as possible.”
