Planned Ohio U Building to Include Solar PV

May 22, 2002 [] Ohio University’s new Innovation Center will get some of its energy from a roof-mounted solar array, which will help power lighting in areas such as hallways and lobbies. The center will be a demonstration building for energy conservation on campus. Other energy-saving systems will play a large role in making the building more efficient, such as dual light switching, which will provide two levels of light so occupants can make adjustments according to their needs. Motion detectors will turn off lights when rooms have no occupants. Construction on the new building will begin June 1.
